General Requirements:
All athletes must meet the following requirements:
1. Conduct themselves as a varsity player both on and off the field by being:
a. Respectful to their fellow players at all skill level
b. Supportive of their teammates.
c. Supportive of their fellow students, no matter what the endeavor.
d. Gracious winners and good losers.
e. Respectful to the referees and game officials and following correct game protocol.
2. Attend all practices and games unless excused by the coach.
3. Attend the awards banquet unless excused by the coach.
The coach, with approval from the Athletic Director, reserves the right to make an exception to these requirements if there is just cause.
Seniors who do not meet the criteria for a letter may receive a letter if they have been a positive force in the program. An athlete who would have qualified for a letter had it not been for an injury is eligible to receive a letter.
Specific Requirements:
ARCHERY: To receive a varsity letter in archery, a player must:
Compete in at least 70% of the tournaments in the season for which the letter is awarded.
Maintain a season average score of 260 or above OR achieve a one-time season high score of 270 or above.
BASEBALL: To receive a varsity letter in baseball, a player must:
Play in ½ of the innings the team plays in. For example, if the team played 100 innings in a season, the letter winner must play a minimum of 50.
The coach has the right to waive such requirements when they are affected by injury or other circumstances that are beyond the control of the player.
BASKETBALL: To receive a varsity letter in basketball, the athlete must:
Exhibit a positive attitude, commitment, and effort toward team goals.
Play (meaningfully) in 60% of varsity game quarters. Exceptions may be granted by the coach if there is just cause.
BASS FISHING: No Letter is currently awarded for this sport
CHEERING: To receive a varsity letter in cheering, a player must:
Attend all practices, games, and competition, unless excused by the coach.
Abide by the rules set forth by the coach and the athletic department.
Cheer in all KCAA Cheerleader Competitions, unless excused by the coach.
CROSS COUNTRY: To receive a varsity letter in cross country:
The athlete must earn 15 points and meet the conduct requirements to receive a varsity letter.
One (1) point will be awarded for finishing in any meet on the Trinity schedule
For KCAA meets of 4 teams or less:
Dual Meet: (1) additional point for finishing in the top 8
Tri Meet: (1) additional point for finishing in the top 12
Quad Meet: (1) additional point for finishing in the top 16
For KCAA meets of 5 teams or less:
Three (3) additional points will be awarded for finishing in the top 1/3 of the field.
Two (2) additional points will be awarded for finishing in the top 2/3.
GOLF: To receive a varsity letter in golf, a golfer must:
One (1) point for qualifying and playing for team at a meet or tournament. One (1) additional point if score counts in team total.
One (1) additional point if score is the lowest of Trinity’s team at a meet or tournament.
One (1) additional point if score is the lowest of all players in a meet or tournament.
SOCCER: To receive a varsity letter in boys soccer, the athlete must:
Exhibit a positive attitude, commitment, and effort toward team goals.
Play in 50% of varsity game halves. Exceptions may be granted by the coach if there is just cause.
SOFTBALL: To receive a varsity letter in softball, a player must:
Play in ½ of the innings the team plays in. For example, if the team played 100 innings in a season, the letter winner must play a minimum of 50.
The coach has the right to waive such requirements when they are affected by injury or other circumstances that are beyond the control of the player.
TRACK: To receive a varsity letter in track, the athlete must:
Exhibit a positive attitude, commitment, and effort toward team goals.
Compete in 2 events in each Varsity track meet on the schedule. Exceptions may be granted by the coach if there is just cause.
VOLLEYBALL: To receive a varsity letter in volleyball, a player must:
Complete the entire season as an active team member by contributing as much as possible toward the success of the team.
Participate in 70% of the matches.
